In response to our local growers’ great need for affordable access to tractors and other heavy duty tools, Food Well Alliance is partnering with the Atlanta Community ToolBank to provide a solution: Atlanta’s first Urban Agriculture Tool Lending program.
Thanks to generous support from Whole Foods Market, we’ll soon be launching our pilot program, providing year-round access to two BCS tractors for growers in Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, and Gwinnett counties!
There’s one important step before growers can take full advantage of the Tool Lending program. If you wish to reserve a tractor, you must complete the Food Well Alliance sub-user membership process, which includes official BCS tractor training and certification.
Our first training is on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 9:30am at Urban Sprout Farms. If you’re interested in participating in the lending program, but can’t make this training, we’ll offer other options in August, September, October, and November.
